Our online learning community for

Co-Production

How we work with the voice of Lived Experience at the heart of all we do...

For Changing Futures Sussex, Co-Production and Involvement means the meaningful and authentic participation of people with lived experiences of multiple disadvantage/multiple and complex needs in shaping the systems and services that serve them.

What does Co-production mean at Changing Futures Sussex?

One of the key drivers for the Changing Futures national programme is

‘Lived Experience Driving Change’ and working in ways that ensure that co-production and people with lived experience are at the heart of what we do.

Working Together

For us this means...

  • Working together alongside people with lived experience, as well as partners and other key people to understand and improve the system and bring positive change to the lived of people experiencing multiple disadvantage across Sussex

  • Actively seeking out, promoting and embedding opportunities for co-production in all areas and at all levels of the system, including governance, commissioning, planning, delivering, developing and evaluating services for people experiencing multiple disadvantage, as often as possible

  • Acknowledge and understand the different levels of involvement or participation that can be achieved in each activity - both for the individual involved and for the Changing Futures programme

  • Valuing lived and learned experience equally

  • Working together in an accessible, trauma informed and person-centred way

  • Working collaboratively from the start of anything we do and all the way along the process,

  • Sharing power and decision-making as often as we can

  • Embedding an inclusive and authentic approach that values lived experience regardless of where individuals are in their journey

  • Use a wide range of engagement activities to adapt to individuals’ needs and interests

We want co-production to be the ‘business as usual’ not the exception!
